CriticalDevs is two developers building software they actually want to use. We develop modern solutions as open source and believe that good tools should be accessible to everyone.
What We Do
- Developer Tools & Automation: We solve real problems. Our first major project is TMS-Alpha, a translation management system that's actually fun to use.
- Full-Stack Development: From Vue.js to Node.js, Go, and C#. We move between technologies depending on what fits best.
- Open Source: We build in public, share our code, and contribute to the community. No unnecessary secrets.
- Quality over Speed: Pragmatic architecture that still makes sense in two years. Developer experience is our top priority.
TMS-Alpha: Our Current Focus
With TMS-Alpha we're building a translation management platform for modern workflows. The system integrates APIs like DeepL and Phrase, supports various formats (JSON, XML, .resx, .properties), and has some cool features:
- Scoped Translations: Manage multiple projects with precise control over which translations apply where.
- Smart Duplicate Detection: No more duplicate translations thanks to smart similarity matching.
- Typed Schemas: Placeholders have explicit types and validation. No more nasty surprises.
- Context-Aware Translation: The system understands context. "Character" can be a game character or a letter – depending on the project.
- Release Management: Versioned translation bundles that work as dependencies or load dynamically.
Built by developers for developers. We were annoyed with existing tools and just built something better.
Our Philosophy
- Pragmatic & Robust: Code that explains itself. Automation where it makes sense. Documentation through clarity.
- Gaming meets Engineering: Our love for competitive gaming pushes us on performance, UX, and that final polish.
- Never Stop Learning: Trying new technologies, frameworks, and ways of thinking is just part of it.
- Open Source by Conviction: We build what we need and share it with the world.
CriticalDevs – Two developers. One mission. Building better tools.
